Privacy Policy for FontMeter
FontMeter is a browser extension that shows the typography, colors and spacing of web pages. It is designed to work without collecting, storing or sending any personal data.
What FontMeter does not collect
- No personal information, browsing history, page content or usage analytics.
- No tracking of your behavior.
- Nothing is sent to our servers or to third parties. FontMeter has no servers.
How it works
- Everything runs locally in your browser, only in the tab where you turn FontMeter on.
- The color picker and the “As seen” palette take a screenshot of the visible part of that tab. The image is read inside the page to find colors and is discarded; it is never saved or sent anywhere.
- Your settings (units, label style, panel position) are stored with Chrome’s storage for extensions.
Permissions
- activeTab: read the page you turned FontMeter on for, and take the screenshot described above. Access starts when you click the icon or press the shortcut, and ends when you leave the page.
- scripting: add the overlay to that page.
- storage: remember your settings.
